This is one of the incredible wonders of nature when a dry country springs to life and provides the most spectacular scenes with kilometers upon kilometers of flowers .This is indeed an experience of a lifetime and will be treasured for many years .The best flower displays usually occur from early August to mid-October.

Day 1. We either depart from Cape Town International Airport and fly to Springbok or we do this 6 hour journey by air-conditioned vehicle.
Day 2. On day 2 we proceed to the Goegap Nature Reserve where there is an abundance of wild flowers .This reserve is a habitat to many rare and very interesting endemic plants ,including a wide variety of succulents .After favorable rains ,the reserve is transformed into a multi-coloured sea of wild flowers .There are also 37 mammals species and several bird species .We then travel to Steinkopf ,visiting very interesting historical places and proceed towards Port Nolloth and return to Springbok .Here we will stay over at a guesthouse and enjoy a typical South African barbeque (braai).
Day 3. We take the route south via Messelpad Pass ,the Kammiesberg mountains ,Soebatsfontein and Wallekraal and then head for either Kamieskroon or proceed to Garies ,depending on where the best flowers are found .We will stay over at a guest house at one of these towns.
Day 4. We will firstly visit the Skilpad (tortoise) Wildflower Reserve at Kammieskroon and then travel southward to Van Rhynsdorp .This town have the largest succulent nursery in South Africa and is worth a visit .From here we travel to Niewoudtville and Loeriesfontein .Within a radius of 25 kilometres we will experience 4 different vegetation regions. Niewoudtville has the largest diversity of gladioli and other bulbous plants in South Africa .We will also visit the farms Groot Toren and Matjiesfontein .At Groot Toren the world explodes into shades of red ,yellow and white .On this route we will see a Kokerboom (quiver tree) forest .We overnight at one of the excellent guest houses in the area with a possible visit to San (Bushmen) rock art sites.
Day 5. We either travel back to Springbok and fly out to Cape Town or travel back to Cape Town per vehicle.

Day 5.We proceed to the quaint little mission village of Wuppertal through the breath-taking Biedouw Valley .This valley is said to have one the richest flower areas of the whole region .After visiting this beautiful valley ,we proceed over the Pakhuis Pass to Clanwilliam and visit the Ramskop Wild Flower Reserve and could possibly visit the annual Clanwilliam Wild Flower Show and Rooibos Tea factory .We will overnight at one of the many guest houses near the town(possibly a Rooibos tea farm.
Day 6. We could (time allowing) do a tour to some San (Bushmen) rock art paintings and then reluctantly return to Cape Town ,either by road or travel back to Springbok to fly back (depending how we came) to Cape Town.
Larger groups will be transported by luxury bus and accommodated in hotels on route.
The Cape floral kingdom is the smallest of the worlds six plant kingdoms covering only 0,04% of the surface .It is however ,by far the richest in variety boasting 8600 species.68% of these occur nowhere else on earth.
The West Coast.
The West Coast flower region ,an integral part of the Cape Fynbos Kingdom have more than 1200 species of flowers.80 Of these are endemic to the West Coast and are nowhere else to be found .The rich flora of the West Coast occur on mainly three soil types with three distinctive vegetation types ,namely strandveld ,renosterveld and sandveld.

We leave Cape Town at 8:00 a.m. and head for Darling and visit the Contreberg ,Waylands,Oudepost and Tienie Versveld Wildflower Reserves.
During September ,if our timing is correct ,we will visit the Wildflower Show and Orchid Show at Darling.

2 Day Tour
Day 1. We leave Cape Town at 8;00 am. and head for Darling and visit the Contreberg ,Waylands ,Oudepost and Tienie Versfeld Wildflower Reserves .We then proceed to Yserfontein and the West Coast National Park and the Postberg Nature Reserve .During September ,if our timing is correct ,we will visit the Wildflower and Orchid Show at Darling .We then travel to Langebaan and overnight at a guest house.
Day 2. We visit the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve and then proceed to Clanwilliam ,visiting the Ramskop Flower Reserve .We then pay a visit to the Klawer Cooperative Winery ,where we will spent some time tasting the sweet wines of the area and then return to Cape Town.

Day 2. We proceed through Citrusdal to Clanwilliam ,visiting the Ramskop Flower Nature Reserve .We visit the Klawer Cooperative Winery and spend some time tasting the sweet wines of the area and then turn off to the Gifberg Guest House on a Rooibos tea farm .The mountain is famous for the large number of rock paintings by the San (Bushmen).
Day 3. We will spend the day searching for wild flowers and exploring the Cederberg mountains up to Wuppertal through the breath-taking Biedouw Valley .This valley have one of the richest flower areas in the whole region .We return to Cape Town rather late in the day.
